Whoops, it’s nearly July! Better late than never, as they say.
On 1st May, Grandma and Granddad came to stay at Worcester! They were staying in one of the guest rooms on-site which was lovely. On Friday, we went to the Old Bookbinders in Jericho for French food. On Saturday, we went to the Botanical Gardens and had dinner at Victors. On Sunday, we had a walk around the Jericho area, went to Evensong in Chapel and had formal dinner in hall.
On Bank Holiday Monday, I ran the Bannister Community Mile in 5:49.7. It is always a fantastic run straight through the heart of the town. I then had to do a second sprint to the maths department to attend the remainder of my Algebraic Curves revision class!
On 9th May, I came down to see Grace. We had a lovely day out in Brighton, I even got a new pair of shorts! We had dinner at Sushi Mania, which is one of Grace’s favourites but I had never been. We will definitely be back!!
On 11th May, Cally and I took a trip to Reading to see an old friend of mine who runs games of Blood on the Clocktower at the uni. It was lovely to catch up with Oliver and to play in his wacky games.
May was a busy month for frisbee so I’m putting this all in one section.
First, our alumni match was on 16th May. It was wonderful to see so many past players come from far and wide to utterly destroy the current Worcester team. I’m looking forward to being on the winning side when I graduate!
Next, we had cuppers on 24th May, which is the biggest frisbee event of the year! Unfortunately, we had a very tough group this year and lost all our group stage games. It was brilliant fun as always though and I had a great time. The winners were Brasenose!
Finally, I stepped down from my role as co-captain as my tenure was up. I will be replaced by Joe, who will do a brilliant job in the role! I’m so proud of the team this year, we’ve doubled in size and tripled in energy. I can’t wait for another prosperous year of Worcester frisbee.
Finally, as is now apparently standard for my blog posts, I tried a new parkrun! On 30th May, Mum and Dad came to visit Oxford. Dad and I ran Abingdon parkrun. While slightly narrow and rough underfoot, the scenery was absolutely gorgeous and running along the Thames is lovely. I ran 21:45 but, in the heat, I felt utterly defeated by the end!
