As always, I went up to Scarborough with my dad’s side of the family for Easter! It was a short visit - just Friday 3rd to Monday 6th - so Milla and I got up extremely early on the Friday to make it in good time. Dad and I ran Sewerby parkrun on Saturday morning which was absolutely huge! With 567 runners, it was Sewerby’s biggest ever parkrun. There’s a fantastic drone video of the start (Facebook link). Then on Sunday, we honoured our family’s tradition of egg rolling! We headed to a grassy slope and launched decorated hard boiled eggs down it. Afterwards, the trophies were given our for Furthest Distance, Longest Lasting and Style. Unfortunately, Grace couldn’t make it to Scarborough this year but there’s always next year to win her first trophy!
I got a new board game! Takenoko is a hexagon-tile-based strategy game about growing bamboo for a panda. It’s a great family game and definitely a head-scratcher at times. Looking forward to playing it some more!
Once again, I tried a new parkrun in Oxford! This time, it was Horspath in south-east Oxford. I cycled over on my bike on Saturday 25th. It was an absolutely lovely day! I ran 21:53 which I was happy with. This parkrun completes my tour of the 4 Oxford parkruns. My favourite is definitely Oxford parkrun in the north. University Parks is far too crowded and the other two, while nice, are just around sports pitches.
